Carnival Cruise Lines Guidelines for Military Rates

Eligibility for Mil Rates:

The Military promotion is available to the following members of the United States Military. The Military Personnel is permitted to book one cabin as long as he/she is traveling in the cabin. Military (18/19/20 years of age) will be an exception to our Carnival Age Policy. The age exception will apply to the cabin the personnel occupy as well as the guests in his/her same cabin. I.D. will be required at embarkation.

  • Active Personnel —
    • Spouses of active Military personnel called to active duty overseas will be eligible to book one cabin as long as the eligible spouse is occupying this cabin. The spouse must provide proof of eligibility by submitting a copy of the Military spouse card as well as a copy of the official orders and/or duties documentation
    • In the event that a Military Spouse is booked and deposited/paid in full, and the Military Spouse becomes a widow/widower, CCL will try to make exceptions. However, it is reviewed on a case by case basis.
  • Reserve personnel
  • Active Cadets
  • U.S. Coast Guard Personnel +
  • Active Members of the National Guard
  • Uniformed Members of the USPHS (U.S. Public Health Services)
  • Retired Personnel
  • Retired member of the National Guard
  • Honorably Discharged member of the National Guard
  • Veterans —, Defined as: Individuals who have actively served in the Military for at least 2 years or during a wartime period and have been honorably discharged.

Royal Caribbean/Celebrity Guidelines for Military Rates

Eligibility:

  • Active military personnel are eligible as well as federal government employees who are employed on military bases.
  • Spouses of active military personnel and unmarried dependent children, under 21 years of age, are also eligible provided they sail with the military service person.
  • Parents and in-laws of active military personnel are eligible to sail without the employee.
  • Single active military personnel are allowed one guest.
  • Retired military personnel.
  • A married active or retired military service person sailing with his/her spouse must be booked in the same cabin. Separate cabins are not allowed for spouse or dependent child for the purpose of adding non-eligible passengers to the military rate.
  • There is a maximum of three cabins assigned per active or retired military service person per sailing date.

Identification:

  • Active or retired service person must carry ID with him/her to be presented at check-in.
  • Military cruise documents now include verbiage that specifies this cruise was booked under a discounted military fare. Random verification of qualification for this fare will occur without notice upon check-in. Failure to present the necessary identification may be subject to an additional collection for the difference of the actual retail fare and the military fare paid.
